Named after the ‘Samet’ trees which grow in abundance, this idealic island provides a great mix of essential elements to provide the pefect holiday retreat. Endless vistas of calm blue seas, quiet bays with fine white sand, water sports including parasailing, kayaking and jet skis. After the sun sets the beaches come alive with magnificent nightlife with fresh seafood restaurants and cocktail bars, fire eaters, dancers and other entertainment.
To some it’s considered the ‘Maldives of Thailand’. Koh Chang is a large island with many bays and over 20 beaches that all have a different feel.
We usually stay in Kho Chang for 2 Nights to indulge in the many various activities available. Away from the enchanting sea, amongst the rain forest are beautiful waterfalls where you can swim under the cool waters falling down the mountain side. Elephant trekking is also another favourite among many, walking and swimming with the elephants, experiencing the prestine jungle areas of the interior. Of course, as always there are pure white sand beaches and clear water for the beach lovers. Plenty of watersports are available or just chill out on the miles of totally unspoilt beaches. At one end of the island is a traditional fishing village with a large pier offering fresh seafood restaurants with the catches coming in live, direct from the fishing boats. Savour the unbeatable flavours of the freshest seafood available at unbelievable prices. Along the pier are also small shops selling local crafts for your collection of Thai memorabilia.
Nightlife is mainly small bar areas, resorts with live bands and dancing, all usually on or near the beach. We are sure you will find what suits your appetite for evening entertainment.
